Design Process
Nikki's portfolio is whimsical, playful, and fun. She creates both watercolor and cut paper artwork, where she experiments with various textures and colors.
Inspired by the children's book author & illustrator, Eric Carle, Nikki paints her own paper for her cut paper art using acrylics and anything she can get her hands on: carpet, sponges, and the pointy backs of paintbrushes. For her watercolor pieces, she uses India ink and pen for the fine detail work. She also creates patterns and white spaces with liquid masking fluid.
Once a piece is finished, Nikki scans the art and completes any necessary editing and print prepping on the computer. She then prints, cuts, packages, and labels all of her art with care.
With a paintbrush, scissors, or pen in hand, Nikki is at her happiest.
Shop for a Cause
Nikki donates a percentage of all sales to the Yosemite Conservancy.
Growing up, Nikki's family camped every summer in Yosemite National Park. It provided her and her sisters boundless hours of outdoor and educational fun. She wants to condition this tradition with her growing family, and to ensure that National Parks remain protected and loved places for future generations.
The Yosemite Conservancy funds projects and programs that are essential to Yosemite’s future, such as trail restoration, wildlife-protection programs, scientific research, youth-in-park programs, and more.
